I’d predict that before you have completed the drilling of the first hole while you are dribbling oil on the bit, you will have some time to think and you might be wondering should you have chosen to weld them on.

I did not check the math on the break strength, but it would be interesting to know if the weld on is a stronger joint than the bolt on, or not.

Either way should be fine IMO. (I bolted them on for the B…but for some reason they are welded on for the MX🙄).

I’d recommend to look to Ken’s Bolt ons or weld ons. Everything I have ordered their was shipped right away and just as advertised. Multiple positive experiences with Ken’s for me. No reason to shop anyone else IMO.

YMMV. 🥃

The only thing I would caution is that there is a limit to the stretch of the t shirts that are available on Ken’s site🙄. I am thinking about filing a warranty claim😉…or maybe it’s the detergent…yeah, that’s it. (I do like the pockets in them though). Joking aside it’s my go to t shirt for working outside…hi viz color and a chest pocket for the phone. Seriously it’s a good shirt…the stretch issue is not from the seller. 🤭

Hey, when did you get that QH20? On my wishlist for sure.
I negotiated it with the original purchase of the MX. (that being said I wish I had pats or something similar…I have several attachments that I had to modify (fabricated and or extended pins) and or hand lift onto the hitch…pats would have saved me some time and effort and material ($$$) dealing with cat 1 implements and pre owned stuff…if not for having already trimmed PTO shafts I would change over in a heartbeat to a pats (or similar) and if no negative consequences, I would give you the QH when you roll up in the yacht(would require some serious portage for that schooner of yours) at my north river bank)

I actually wish I would have modified the QH with the hooks and skipped the purchase part / catalog engineered triangle / home fab job…now that I picked up the logging winch I really don’t need the triangle anymore. You can probably have that too if you portage the yaught to my place up north 😆.

Id need photo evidence of the portage for free donation. Bring the ‘barge’ we talked about with the M to give me a demo and I’ll throw in a wash…got to get up the cliff though. 😂

So you were having one of your bad days when you welding on the hooks ... is that what you're saying? 😂😂😂 I'm just kidding!
I’ll have you know, they haven’t broken off! Also, I haven’t used them… but that’s beside the point!

Does anyone have any pics of using the hooks on their buckets in action?

I'd love to see what y'all used them for.

I don’t have photos, but I commonly use the hooks for securing breakable loads in the bucket. And for lifting things. When I bought my implements I brought them home on my flatbed trailer and lifted them off with chains on the bucket.

Try using the Search function for “bucket hooks”. and you might find a bunch of threads.

As you’re new, I want to point out that our member @Kennyd4110 has a whole bunch of cool stuff at www.boltonhooks.com.

Good guy. Good stuff.

No affiliation, just a happy customer.

How about this? In July of 2019 I used the hooks that the local dealer had installed on the bucket of the BX25 to help with dragging this chunk to its final resting place. Incidentally, I dug it out of the ground with the backhoe.

These days I don't have to resort to dragging stuff! 😂😂😂

Dang that's a good size rock. I could see the chains be useful for this. Then again I have forks but it would be quicker sometimes to just throw a chain on than swap attachments haha.

You can see from the trail I was leaving in the grass that there wasn't much lifting going on. 😂

I didn't have pallet forks at the time, not that they would have helped with this rock. If I'm moving rocks around I typically use the grapple.

Still impressive. Bet my L2501 couldn't do it either lol

... and no accessible website.

Maybe this is a chance that Ken reads this, unfortunately somebody put this cloudflare garbage software into his website "for security reasons" and it prevents access for millions of users.

You cannot even report the problem to the web site owner because all you see is what is in the picture. This cloudflare rubbish is creeping into lots of web sites recently preventing access. It is so frustrating. I wonder if website owners know the reason why they are losing business: cloudflare stopping access, your web site is safe ...

Sorry, it was not my intention to capture this thread and maybe should have opened a new one, so please don't dwell on this, but my hope is really that Ken reads this and takes action.

I don’t have an action photo that I am allowed to post in this thread😉, but I have several primary uses:

1. When I mow (before I had grapple) in the woods, I would have the bucket on. It is common to have a branch/trunk laying across trail. I would use a strap or chain to the hooks and be able to lift and move out of trail.

2. Loading and unloading implements from equipment trailer. So again I use straps and rig and hoist them off from the side with front bucket hook / straps.

3. Moving Timbers / milled boards with straps you don’t want to scrape with forks. Or if timbers in a pile you can select one from top with if you can get a strap around it without moving the whole bunk.

4.I’ve even used it house an implement to paint it. (Careful the wind direction / overspray)

5. For the grand finally, if you look through hunting and game photos you may find more than one deer of mine hanging from the hooks for field dressing / skinning.

If you have a chain or straps they are very versatile.

NEVER heard of an issue...I will look into it.

Actually, a PM would have been better.

EDIT: I see you are in Ireland, not the USA? We had to block many countries do to viscous bot attacks trying to buy a single cheap item to test stolen credit cards.

Thank you very much !

Well, it says on this cloudflare message that you should contact the web site owner, but how are you supposed to do that if you don't get contact details?

Contacting cloudflare I tried on numerous occasions but will not do that any more, never got a reply or the problem fixed, a waste of time this company and their software obviously does not work.
