My Bx25d can run for about 5 minutes and it acts like it’s running out of fuel. I’ve changed both fuel filters, always run treatment in it to take care of moisture. Checked voltage to pump. Doesn’t drop any. Other odd thing- the back lights on the dash come on when it does this and the idiot light for engine temp is on anytime the key is on. Temp gauge still works as normal. Radiator and engine are warm but not hot. Makes me think short but if it’s not affecting pump voltage, how would that affect a diesel? Any help would be highly appreciated, this is the most used piece of equipment on the farm

Kinda sounds like vermin (aka mice) have chewed through a few wires......
Don't know the wiring of your beastie but if the 'stop engine' is a solenoid, it might be getting power and well, engine stops.
You really need the wiring diagram to sort it out !

Checked harness, no chew spots or rub spots. It can be running 2500 rpm and start missing. Will drop under 1000 rpm and shake like mad, running on random cylinders. Shut it off and let it cool off for about 20 minutes it’ll start and run fine

We run into this when operating in heavy grain dust. The air filter plugs up and it chokes out after a bit. Operator has to pull the air filter pre cleaner out and blow it out from the inside. Since you already have checked fuel, check the air filter. You might be full of leaves or a rat nest that is smothering you out.

I will! I’m beginning to think I’m chasing two unrelated problems that happened at the same time. The dash was replaced before under warranty due to moisture collection inside the glass. It resulted in shorting out the entire dash. I noticed some condensation under the glass recently

...5 minutes ...it acts like it’s running out of fuel...
Literally 5 minutes? Doing what work with the tractor?

What are the specific symptoms?

Then what? It needs to cool back to ambient temp before it's normal again?

Any idea what brought on this behavior? Just 'out of the blue'?

About 5. Give or take two or three minutes. Will do it sitting in the garage doing nothing. Might do it a little quicker pulling a trailer.
RPM’s will drop from 2500 to about 1000 or less misses and shakes like mad. Shut it down for about 20 minutes and it’ll start back up and run

Update: dash lights are not coming on at same time anymore. There is moisture behind the glass. I think it is an unrelated problem just coincidentally started at same time.

Two thoughts: put a T in the fuel line after the last filter and hook up a pressure gauge. Anyone know about what it should read?
next is check valve clearance. Any opinion about this?

re: dash and moisture
possible cure...
If you can find a place ,protected, along the top, carefully drill 2-3 small ( 1/16" ) holes to become 'vents'.
have done this trick on plastic headlight cases. Bye bye condensation.

Is fuel line getting plugged? Whats fuel flow like before first filter? I had this issue and line in tank was getting plugged, Cleaned tank out and issue is no longer.

I just put a piece of clear fuel line on between the last filter and the injector pump. I can see excellent fuel flow. Also put a pressure gauge in that line. Very little pressure. Maybe a 1/4 lb. Haven’t found anything that says what it’s supposed to be yet.

You should have good flow UNTIL the fuel runs out of the first filter. Pull the line off before the first filter and check the flow from the tank.
Pump pressure is low , 2.5 to 4lbs. usually.

I’ve had the same problem for a few years with my same machine. I thought it had the paper seal out of bottle cap for fuel additive which I saw fall in, floating around and blocking the tank outlet. I got stranded last winter blowing snow, very pissed off decided to pull the tank to flush it out. Very difficult and didn’t get the tank pulled. I did however find a pinched vent line for tank on left side to right, pinched by the ROPS. Replaced that line, haven’t had a problem since then. I can’t understand that line causing my issue the same issue your having, but a simple check to remove 8 bolts to see if the line is pinched there. Mine was the left mount on corner. Good luck
