My Bx25d can run for about 5 minutes and it acts like it’s running out of fuel. I’ve changed both fuel filters, always run treatment in it to take care of moisture. Checked voltage to pump. Doesn’t drop any. Other odd thing- the back lights on the dash come on when it does this and the idiot light for engine temp is on anytime the key is on. Temp gauge still works as normal. Radiator and engine are warm but not hot. Makes me think short but if it’s not affecting pump voltage, how would that affect a diesel? Any help would be highly appreciated, this is the most used piece of equipment on the farm

Kinda sounds like vermin (aka mice) have chewed through a few wires......
Don't know the wiring of your beastie but if the 'stop engine' is a solenoid, it might be getting power and well, engine stops.
You really need the wiring diagram to sort it out !

Checked harness, no chew spots or rub spots. It can be running 2500 rpm and start missing. Will drop under 1000 rpm and shake like mad, running on random cylinders. Shut it off and let it cool off for about 20 minutes it’ll start and run fine

We run into this when operating in heavy grain dust. The air filter plugs up and it chokes out after a bit. Operator has to pull the air filter pre cleaner out and blow it out from the inside. Since you already have checked fuel, check the air filter. You might be full of leaves or a rat nest that is smothering you out.

OK, I'm still baffled about the dashlights and temp ! Please post what you finally find as to WHY this happens !!!
I will! I’m beginning to think I’m chasing two unrelated problems that happened at the same time. The dash was replaced before under warranty due to moisture collection inside the glass. It resulted in shorting out the entire dash. I noticed some condensation under the glass recently

...5 minutes ...it acts like it’s running out of fuel...
Literally 5 minutes? Doing what work with the tractor?

What are the specific symptoms?

Then what? It needs to cool back to ambient temp before it's normal again?

Any idea what brought on this behavior? Just 'out of the blue'?
