Hello everyone
Hopefully you having a good day !
I have a M9540 tractor
I bought the tractor đźšś from my neighbor as I had really slow drive.
I suspect the clutch pack had gone. So I split the tractor and yes one side had totally burned out was happy to of found the problem. Changed all clutch plates and metal spacer’s put some photos. Built it back up. Changed all the oils and filters and have nothing at all no drives. Does anyone know if it has to be bleed or primed or what makes the clutch pack work ? What pump to check for drive
Many thanks for any helpful advice and information
Mark

Assuming you're working with a service manual, I wonder what sort of trouble shooting you did before tearing it apart?
Of course I have a workshop manual and didn’t tear it apart DH . I diagnosed the problem as the clutch pack and was completely correct as the pictures ℹ showed and stripped it and rebuilt the clutch and the tractor is back together was looking for help or information
Many thanks

Okay, you have the manual. I'm no expert on this model by any means, but I can find my way around/through a manual if I have one. As I see it, the shuttle valve is supplied from power steering return flow. Do you have steering? Do you have PTO? All of that runs off the steering pump section.

The manual shows test ports on the shuttle valve. It says the pressure to the clutch packs should be 300 325 PSI. Do you know if you have that?

While you joined OTT today, @Fedup has been here on OTT for years.

He's seen a lot a folks tear stuff apart blindly, without a Workshop Manual (WSM).

Valid question.

Sounds like you have a good start.

I certainly hope you can find the cure easily.

Best wishes. (y)

Like @Fedup said, what and where you have hydraulic pressure would be a good start.

Did you tear into the entire sump and get all the clutch material out, as it could very well be clogging up that suction side of the system.
