Check the foot throttle pedal to see if it is sticking down and not returning. It may need to be cleaned or lubed.
If it is stuck down, the knob will be over ridden.

Thank you whitetiger. The foot pedal was stuck down. Never use it so never considered it as the issue. Lubed it up and now it will spring back up as it should. Engine throttle knob works perfect. Thank you again
