Hey all, hope everyone had a great Xmas :)

Long story short the diff lock stopped working a little while ago and need to address the issue as I

Basically I press down on the diff lock pedal and it goes all the way down but never engages the diff lock. I went to the dealer to explain my problem and after a long conversation they think it’s likely the shift fork. I just did the 400hours maintenance on the tractor and changed all the fluids and filters and checked the old oil and filters for any shavings or chunks of metal and didn’t see anything.

I was told by the dealer that unfortunately this wasn’t covered under the 5yr power train warranty so it’s either I get this work done by the dealer or I attempt the work myself. I’ve got the time, the room, the tools and the shop manual but wanted to ask if anyone has done this on theirs where they have the backhoe sub frame installed.

wondering if I would need to remove that sub frame to be able to remove the axle case.

Looking at the workshop manual they don’t mention anything where if the tractor has a backhoe or not. Not sure if that adds a level of complexity or not to the job :/

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

cheers!

Yes you will have to remove the subframe on that side in order to remove the axle case.
