LOL! Yes that seems to happen here quite a bit. Both are great tractors, both available with a cab. Grand L has some very nice features you won't find on the MX such as the HST Plus. I also think it has a better ergonomic layout of the loader and rear remote controls - a bit more luxury if a tractor can have luxury components. The MX on the other hand is more utilitarian. I like the larger front wheels on the MX and of course the MX5400 is going to have more HP than the L4060. You'll really need to decide which features are most important to you.My thread has gone off on a non-recoverable tangent so I'm asking here.
Thanks.
The MX is more robust and has larger wheels and a category 2 hitch. So, more of a utility tractor that can take heavier duty implements. And the larger wheels add to stability and allow for a smoother ride over rough terrain.LOL! Yes that seems to happen here quite a bit. Both are great tractors, both available with a cab. Just another thought. How much land are you working with and what are you going to use the tractor for?My thread has gone off on a non-recoverable tangent so I'm asking here.
Thanks.
We have 20 acres with 14 acres of fields to mow. There's a 250' driveway that needs snow cleared. There's a brush pile where I need to lift limbs, tree tops, and other brush to put on top of the pile. I also have some projects on my list.Just another thought. Your uses are similar to mine. 20 acres with 2000’+ of road to maintain, about the same mowing, garden plowing and tilling, and forks for loading/unloading from truck. I have a BX2380 for mowing/fertilizing/weeding the yard, tilling the garden, box blading the gravel driveway, hauling the garbage cans up to the road and back, etc.
I'm getting the new machine to replace a Ford 3000 with a bush mower.
MX5400 with a LA1065 FEL and then get some good Implements. Buy the good Industrial HD like a Root Grapple, Tiller, ForksWe have 20 acres with 14 acres of fields to mow. A lot more $sss for a CAB. If you are just using it in fields well ok with AIR & Heat. But if you have any woods put extra $ss away for cracked windows and fixing the CAB.The MX is a more powerful machine. You have a BX for small tasks. So the MX is probably the right choice. I'd buy the Grand-L with cab probably.
The 6000 is not all time 4x4.A lot more $sss for a CAB. If you are just using it in fields well ok with AIR & Heat. But if you have any woods put extra $ss away for cracked windows and fixing the CAB.
If you have a welder and metal saw just make a ROPS with a Four Post. We are going to do that.
Get the MX5400. Go to a Dealer and drive different models.
The MX5400 or MX6000 are UTILITY TRACTORS - NOT COMPACT TRACTORS. BIG DIFFERENCE.
The MX6000 is all time 4X4. You don't need that. Also the MX6000 is 63HP GREAT. but if you operate the MX54000 with 55hp it is more than you can handle unless you are a Contractor with BIG Jobs.
We also have a LS34 HP and it is nice, but the MX54000 is twice the machine.
Just remember if you get the MX54000 GET the HD Implements- DON'T SKIMP..
Can't wait to post all the implements and modifications we are DYI on our MACHINE.
SO HAPPY WITH THIS MACHINE WITH HAVING OVER 55+ Years operating all types of equipment!!!
If you want to talk about this machine send us an email or PM and we can talk.
No it’s not. The MX5400 and 6000 are identical machines, with 3 exceptions: 1) the 5400 is available in gear or HST and the 6000 is only available in HST, and 2) the obvious engine hp (54 vs 60), and 3) the 5400 is available in 2 or 4wd. Neither are full time 4wd.The 6000 is not all time 4x4.
Sorry I was looking at the Kubota Brochure and it shows the MX 5400 in 2wd & 4wd and then the MX6000 only showed 4wd. Must have misread the Kubota Brochure. No it’s not. Not based on Kubota's classification. The Utility tractor lineup starts with the MX5400 and ends with the M6-141-1. Your tractor is the entry level utility model.THE MX54000 WITH EVERYTHING MENTIONED IS THE TOP OF THE LINE FOR A UTILITY TRACTOR
Yes the MX6000 is only available in 4wd, but not full time 4WD. There are no full time 4WD compact or utility tractors made.Sorry I was looking at the Kubota Brochure and it shows the MX 5400 in 2wd & 4wd and then the MX6000 only showed 4wd. Must have misread the Kubota Brochure.
