There must be a whole lot of inexperienced operators buying BX tractors. I follow the Kubota salvage on an auction website, and this week there are a few BX23S tractors listed as rollover's.

KTAC SALVAGE|** Cause of Loss UPSET/ROLLOVER***KUBOTA BX23SLSB-R-1 ** 16 Hours Starting bid $6900.

KTAC SALVAGE|** Cause of Loss UPSET/ROLLOVER***KUBOTA BX23SLSB-R-1** 1 hour Starting bid $6900.
***The loader and backhoe in the photos are NOT included and will be removed.***

KTAC SALVAGE| Cause of Loss **UPSET/ROLLOVER** KUBOTA BX23SLSB-R-1 / 193 Hours Starting bid $8,500

KTAC SALVAGE| Cause of Loss **UPSET - UNIT ROLLED OVER ONTO ITS SIDE AND SUSTAINED TOTAL LOSS DAMAGES** KUBOTA BX23SLSB-R-1 / Starting bid $5200

KTAC SALVAGE| Cause of Loss **UPSET/ROLLOVER** KUBOTA BX23SLB-R / Sold$5700 - 51 bids

What is interesting is that sometimes the loader and backhoe is removed and not part of the sale, and other times, everything that was financed is all included in the sale. Below is a good example.

Hydrostatic Drive, 2023 US EPA Label, Kubota LA340 Loader w/Joystick, Quick Coupler, SGC0554, 1 Front Remotes, 2 Mid-Mount Remotes, Mid-Mount PTO, 1 Rear Remotes, Auxiliary Hydraulics, 540 PTO, 3-Point Hitch, Kubota BT603 Kubota BT603 Backhoe Attachment SN: H8641 w/ Backhoe Bucket, Land Pride SA10 Skid Auger SN: 2079517, 18x8.50-10 Front Tires, 26x12.00-12 Rear Tires
SALVAGE|** Cause of Loss Catastrophe CAT/ FLOOD DAMAGE***KUBOTA BX23SLSB-R14-1** S/N **LAND PRIDE SA10** S/N **LAND PRIDE SGC0554** S/N **KUBOTA BX2506** S/N N/A ** **This equipment is sold "as is" to purchaser. No warranty included.**

Winning Bid

That last one doesn’t seem to be a rollover/KTAC claim. Maybe it was a trade in? EDIT, just read flood damage in the paragraph.

What site is this? I’d like to watch what stuff goes for too.

Amazing, one was rolled over with ONE HOUR.....ouch.

Doubt I'd ever consider a damaged tractor but might be something to look at.

Heck, @Fordtech86 and others got me looking at 1/8 scale RC Trucks, Cars, Airplanes and Boats.....

Almost seems impossible. I know they come in crates and need assembly, but once that’s done you’d figure it would hit the first hour on the dealer lot. Driving out of shop, over to fuel island, any test drives, onto/off of delivery trailer, up customer driveway… hell, maybe the delivery driver rolled it off the trailer ramps!

Like so many things today you have to register, have a tax ID, resellers or dealer licence and provide banking information, etc.

I think my BX came with 0.6 hours or something like that.

Unless the unit was sold to an owner electing KTAC, probably they wouldn’t cover pre-sale damage at the dealership?

Your theory does have some merit.

Ha - that’s cool - I think another garage would be needed for 1/4 scale.

I sold the Harley Davidson to get rid of toys I don’t have room for. Miss it sometimes still.

It says at the site, "Collision". Probably during delivery.

I've bought a few of them over the years, mostly lawn & garden stuff. Couple subcompacts.

You can do well but don't buy them sight unseen! Go look at it in person if possible.

yes, things happen. Fell off the trailer, etc. I remember one, a ZD mower as I recall, customer loaded it (brand new) on the trailer, he pulls into traffic and got T-boned but a pickup truck going about 50mph. Didn't even slow down. BROKE the 2" ball off, broke the chains, trailer flew about 30 foot, mower went another 20 foot or so (not tied down..). Totaled the mower, trailer, and 2 trucks. Everyone walked away. That mower went to salvage as well. It was trashed. But pics looked decent. Broken transmission, all kinds of exterior damage, maybe the engine was ok-none of us ever tried to start it. Picked it up with a mini-ex and toted it to the back, where ktac sent someone to get pics and such, then it went to auction. 0.4 hours.

you just never know.

iron planet.
