16mm Wheel studs

I need to replace some wheel studs on my L4850 due to calcium corrosion. Kubota wants $20 Canadian each not including the nut. Does anyone have a source with better pricing that will mail to Canada or located in Canada? I had hoped to replace all 16 but at that price... ugh...

Some 16mm threaded rod may be a idea. You would want grade 8 (10.8 metric) and the correct thread pitch. Cut to length and install with red locktite, or even a jam nut on the back side.

This is my backup plan if I don't find proper studs at a reasonable price. Or, at the very least, have a piece on hand for emergencies...

If the studs are threaded in rather than pressed in, and it’s a through hole like on like on my tractors, then I think what I would do is find some grade 8 bolts that are threaded all the way up to the end, and screw them in from the back, and perhaps cut them if needed. I don’t know if this kind of a bolt is available in grade 8, but I imagine it is.

I would not use threaded rod unless it was graded high enough for that kind of use, as IronBrew mentioned.

When I replaced bolts and studs on my L35, I ordered them from Fastenal. But then I found they were only about $4 from Kubota, too. Just shows the vagaries of Kubota parts pricing, I guess.

just checked, kub cda shows 10pcs @ $10 ,2 pcs @ $12 . $12 ones are longer.

Interesting. I called and was quoted $20.XX for a stud, and $10 for a nut. By any chance did you have a part number for the ten pack?

oopsy, I was looking at the FRONT wheels on parts finder and yes REAR wheel studs are $20 each.
somehow thought you were looking for fronts( maybe cause I have 3/4 bald front tires...)
While the cdn kub 'oarts finder' has a few quirks the prices ARE accurate. At least my local dealer ,Galer', always charges those prices.

All studs on tje Grand L? My Standard L has two studs and four bolts. You could do like many new car makers and do all bolts if you wanted.

US price is $15 so about the same given the exchange rate.

After what theoldhokie said, I checked the parts for my rear wheel. Your stud is used in a lot, of machines including mine. Mine uses two of the studs and six bolts at 3.23 each, pt# 0107351640. Plus some washers. This might be the way to go.

Solved the issue by ordering the BroTek 2" spacers. I need them anyway...
