Bigger is ALWAYS better, this is America. IF you dont like it you can leave! 
. But seriously, I can think of uses where every bucket size would be best. A 5 might be best for digging and scraping, a 6 for tighter spaces and real dense heavy stuff, a 7 for heavy but not super heavy stuff like shale gravel and dirt, an 8 for cleaning up branches and moving light stuff like mulch....I probably have to pick two for now.......
