1970’s L225 with turf tires front and back (13.6-16) is the rear and (20x8- 10 is the front. Trying to find ag tires without switching rims. Is that possible? 1st tractor so new to this

You can do anything you want, it will only take a little more time and a little more money.

New tires are worth more than the tractor. I'd buy a tractor with the tires I'd want. Same goes for adding a FEL.

Will likely be difficult to find an R1 (ag) tire to fit the R3 (turf) wheels. Probably could find an R4(industrial) tire to fit.

Is tractor 4WD? If so need to keep similar ratio of rolling circumferences between front and rear.

Too much deviation can lead to damage to the 4WD system.

Your tractor was made in 74-75-76 and had these tires as an option :

IT is very, very important to know if this is a L225DT OR a L225 ? The first is 4wd and the latter 2wd.

As for simply switching the rubber - that will be very hard to do - typically anything from AG to turf or the opposite requires rim changes.

Why do you WISH to change? IF you need more grip in the field - maybe chains would be a simple answer?

These oldie but goodie machines are somewhat hard to come by - something that is 50 years old will be tough to get all the "parts" too.

You may be able to get R14 tires that fit the existing rims. These are somewhere between the turf and agricultural and industrial thread styles.

Thanks for all replies, it is 2wd. It came with turf from the factory I’m guessing and they do not fit my needs, and have started dry rotting, but I will look for those sizes provided . Thanks again

I will look at my L185F and see what size it has. It is AG tires and I would prefer Turf so maybe we can swap rims.

One of the front rims is damaged somehow (covered in some fiberglass repair from previous owners) but holds air fine.

Would you be interested in swapping if they are swappable?
