I recently acquired a L5030. The tilt steering mechanism seems to be worn. I have poked at it a little but I have not disassembled it yet. The springs seem to be in place. It feels like the teeth are worn and they do not mesh properly. The spring continually pulls the wheel forward. The steering wheel will not remain in the rearmost position. Suggestions?

Pictures of the mechanism would help, but best suggestion is to clean and lubricate thoroughly
This is a cab type tractor. While removing all the pretty plastic from around the center console is not impossible, it is a bit of a pain. I'm pretty sure that there will be some mechanical disassembly and then waiting for parts. I did reach up in there a lubricate what I could see. This seemed to make it slip worse.

I had same issue. I took the dash panel and side panels off, and found the tilt lever was bent. Ordered new one, very simple to replace.
Part # 6C200-4133 TILT LEVER (for B2301)
I had no idea how this got bent. But I do have a theory. As I was working on it, I grabbed the steering to pull myself up. When doing so, I noticed the tilt lever bending. So I believe using the steering wheel as a grab assist handle when mounting/dismounting has bent the lever?
