I am looking for the tool to remove the gear on the injection pump. The thread is 36mmx1.5mm and needs to thread inside the gear. Has anyone found an item at a local store they modified? I need to get this thing out to the pump guys. Hay season is closing in fast.

First which tractor, as you list having 4
If it's the M5 or the M7060 neither of those two have an Injection pump, so at a loss for those.
The DM1024 disk mower, so no Injection pump on that implement.
The BX2380 not a nut or gear on the injection pump, so again at a loss.

That would be helpful. Lol. I have an M5-111. It’s a common rail pump. Dealer told me the pump was bad. Code P0039 and P3007. Said $6000. Columbus Diesel said they can take care of it. So I’m down to getting the pump out.

Ok so I take it your trying to remove the gear off the supply pump.

If you are it's not as simple as just removing the gear.
If you just remove the gear improperly it will be out of time.
Also while some can rebuild the pump, are they going to also program the tractor for the new pump?

You need to follow the WSM exactly!
Follow pages 3-103, 3-107, 3-108 to remove the pump properly.
And you will need to have the 2 tools made as they are not sold.
The tools are on 2-100, 2-101

I have the WSM and that's how I knew the thread size of the pump gear. I have worked on autos and trucks for over 30 years including diesels. I kind of figured the ECM may need flashed but I wasn't paying $6k for a pump. That's insane. I can buy a P7100 Bosch pump and have it worked over real good for half that. lol.

I can't believe Kubota doesn't have a tool line, that they make you machine tools you need. I am also planning on a 'weight loss' kit for the tractor. Getting rid of 200lbs of junk on engine as well as sending the ECU and the ACU out for reprogramming. I am going to call them Monday and see if they know anything.

I have the engine on #4 TDC and marks lined up and painted, so I'm pretty sure I can get the pump installed back in the same position.

I appreciate the heads up though and your help.

Post a picture of the drawing for the tool. I have made many special tools from workshop manual drawings just like that.

If all you need is a 36mm round bar with a 1.5mm thread on the OD consult any machine shop. Thats an hours work plus material....

Very straight forward and I suspect a lot of that detail is unnecessary. How is the tool used once its screwed into the gear as shown in the picture?

Dan
I agree. Need threads, little protrusion to push on and something to put a wrench on.
I’ll send to local shop Monday and get it made.

I am still curious about what it does. Does it unscrew something or does it pull the gear off its mount?

Dan
Once you take the nut off, it’ll screw into the gear and then when you turn the tool, it will push against the end of pump shaft thus pushing the pump away from the gear.
