Might not be an easy search, especially in Eastern, MA.Hi there, I'm looking for a backhoe for a L3901
Shipping would likely be brutal! You want a BH77.
Start by calling local dealers and see what they can come up with.
You will also need a mount kit that you should be able to get from a dealer.
Talk to sales (Whole Goods) not parts.
There is quite a few in Colorado for some odd reason.
The L3901 is a current production model, so the dealer should be able to order the backhoe, subframe, and all installation parts.Might not be an easy search, especially in Eastern, MA.
Most sellers do not separate BHs or loaders from their tractors to sell.
Then too, you will need the specific BH mounting hardware.
If you order/buy new from Norfolk Power Equipment, be advised.....Hi there, I'm looking for a backhoe for a L3901
I do not consider a dealer "OK"..... when they are not willing to provide lower "whole goods" pricing offered by other dealers.I thought Norfolk equipment was ok but next I might check with Chappel since they have a place in Hopedale, MA...I bought my thumb setup for $1400 from Norfolk
Thanks for the chart and advice,I probably won't buy new I see quite a few used Woods BH80's for sale at about half the price of a new one and I hear they make good quality products. Here’s the information you need.
A quick check of the subframe whole goods # was about $1000 at Messicks—without shipping cost.

I’d consider selling mine but I don’t want to mess with taking my subframe kit off.

Be VERY certain that whatever model/brand BH that you buy, has a sub-frame mount that is SUITABLE for your particular tractor MODEL.Thanks for the info,I see a few used Woods BH80's on FB Marketplace for about half the price of a new one and they seem to make a good quality product, maybe I'll go that route
