Hi guys!
Last week I purchased a B7100 HST with 1800 hours on it. First time owner of Kubota.

I was told it was a 1978. Are the tires/wheels on this tractor the wheels that would have come with the tractor when delivered new?

The serial number is B7100HD72575.

Also, will those wider rear wheels be a maintenance concern...I read about rear axle hub failures on another post.

I appreciate your input!

Hi Digby,
those wheels/tires look original and should not cause problems. The hub issues are more about loosening up and rocking on the axle. Not a wheel or tire issue, just a weak point in the design.

Nice tractor! Tractor looks very well maintained and taken care of considering the 1800 hours! That is a later model B7100. I think post 1994 or so. Others will weigh in with a closer year.

The rear tires look like replacements, the original for that size wheel would have been true turf tires. I think the rear wheels look right but they are reversed compared to mine on my late model B7100 HST . The front wheels look correct but not sure on the tires. The only currently made turf tires for the front I am aware of being manufactured in size 20.5x8.00-10 is the Kenda K513. Others have used 20x8.00-10 depending on the rolling circumference .

I have the wide rear wheels and turf tires on my B7100 HST with about 1300 hours and my original hubs are doing well but yes, others have experienced hub failures. I think there are two different style rear hubs aftermarket with one being much superior. Others may chime in with specifics.

Need the tire sizes to know for sure.
That model did have an option for those tires.
And yes it's a 1990 or newer model B7100 (you know this by serial number and the 6 lug front rims).
You probably have the newer style of hubs that have Colter locks, they don't have issues.

NIW,

What are your thoughts on what to me looks like the rear wheels are reversed? I have my hubs located as wide as they allow per the manual.

Do these wheels seat properly when reversed as they appear in the OP's picture?

My owners manual only mentions setting the hubs to the track width and no mention of reversing the wheels.

Yes on those style of wheels they are reversible.
There work just as good with them dished out.
There where quite a few different manuals that had different suggestions and it seams none of them agreed. 🤪
The rear axles on these and other models of the same time frame were really well made, I don't think I've ever seen one that has broken or bent?
The hubs are the week point and if you have the newer style hubs your good.

I own a B1750HST, the successor to the B7100, bought new in 1993.

My B1750 has the identical tire wheel combination as does your 7100, and has had such since delivery.

Never any issues aside from the need to install tubes in the front tires about 20 years ago because the Bridgestone fronts would no longer maintain pressure tubeless. It appears that yours also has tubes in the front tires.

Yes, keep the rear hub clamps TIGHT.
