bx2200 3 pt. hitch and mower deck operation

Just purchased a bx 2200 in excellent condition. Puzzle: the 3 pt hitch and

the mower deck only go up and down together. Thought they should be

independently controllable. What am I missing?

This is brought up on a pretty regular basis. The 3PH actually lifts the MMM, so you can operate the 3PH without moving the MMM by locking it in the TOP position, BUT you cannot operate the MMM separate from the 3PH.

Get a manual for it from your dealer, it's really helpful.

On your 3pt hitch, the upper control arms can be disconnected and attached to the ready holes on the tractor frame. The short arms will still raise and lower ,but wont interfere with the mmm action.
