My 2014 ZD326 mower is running fine, but when I go to push the handles all the way forward for max forward speed it stalls everytime…so can never mow any faster than medium speed. Any thoughts on what is causing this and how to correct it.

How is it shutting down? Spitting and sputtering till dead, or like you switched the key off?

Just guessing here, we have a ZD331 at work, sounds like its fuel related to me. If you pull the fuel line off at injection pump, stick in a clean jug and turn key on, do you have good, steady fuel? Could be the electric lift pump is bad. Or, there is a piece of trash partially clogging the line somewhere. Or a bad filter/full of water.

How's the air filter look?

Thanks for the suggestion…I am not a handy guy so have it serviced by a Kubota dealer…had a ”full” service done just a few months ago…would have thought they would change the fuel filters, but maybe they short cutted
So handy or not handy I have a couple of questions for you. If you switch fuel supply to the other tank do you still have a problem?
I had a problem like yours that only happened when I operated on the right side tank. Problem was solved when I drained that tank and found a small piece of debris was blocking the fuel pick up when the tank was below 1/2 tank of fuel.
Other problem was when I looked at fuel filters, the two after the pump looked great. I did not know that two more filters (one per tank) were in poor condition. they are hard to see and hard to access.

Totally forgot about the tank switch, good catch.

Appreciate everybody’s suggestion. Have a buddy who is handy with engines so will have him look at this thread and see if he can see any problems with these items.

Get on the ground with a flashlight and identify the location of all of the fuel filters. It is easy to remove a couple of bolts and drop the frame that has fuel filters and pump mounted to it. I would bet that two filters will look black and crudy, the other two will look much better. Replace all four and re-install filter bracket. When I did maintenance on my ZD 323 I saw the two post pump filters and saw they looked good and did not change them. Only after 900 hrs did I have fuel problems and found the before pump filters. I changed all four filters and everything is good 300hrs later.

Sounds like the Kubota dealership charged me to change fuel filters during my service a few months ago but actually may not have changed them at all.

Visual inspection could confirm that. Does service invoice have a charge for fuel filters? How many? It may be worth going back to dealer to make it right or fix it yourself and move on. I have fired my local Kubota dealer do to no quality control. Found another 25 miles away that does great work.

You have a great machine that will last many years. It literally has no replacement IMO. Properly maintained it should last several thousand hours.
