Hi guys new to forum. My zd 18 I just picked up is having some issues. First when you went to start it it would click turn the key 4 5 times it starts. The guys were using it and the battery died so they ran got a new battery and it started but the saw the charge fuse was blown... today it dies they got it back home fuse blown and it's dead I take the starter off advanced tests it says it's good...put starter back on and jump it it starts turn it off its dead. When I did a voltage test it was 13 13.5 running previous owe said he put a new alt on it and the starter has tap marks from a hammer said he only replaced the solenoid. When I tried to jump it from the battery it just spun but the bendix did not kick it out to spin motor?? Any help would be great. Thank you!

Other than the dead battery and blown fuse that is how my zd326 starter went bad after 1300 hours. Solenoid click, no crank.
$75 eBay aftermarket starter works, hopefully it will last. Kubota starter is about $375.

I had the same problem with a ZD18. After testing and searching, I replaced the starter with a cheap online knockoff. 3 years later, it still works fine.
Thanks guys. Was your zd18 blowing the charge fuse also. I charged the battery up fired right up I hope it's fixed with the new starter
