Why are my hydraulics weak?
Welcome to Orangetractor talks!

Lots of very helpful and knowledgeable folks here to help you out but a lot more information is needed for meaningful responses that will answer your question.

Information such as model, gear or hst, hours, history of fluid changes, parts replacements, which hydraulics? three point, loader, hst or rear remotes.

It will also be helpful for you to qualify your term “weak”. Example, weak compared to normal operation, or weak compared to other similar sized tractors etc.

OK now what do you mean by weak? Is it not doing what it did before, have you changed filters and fluid, have you crashed it,, a lot more info make the getting answers a lot easier

WOW, Ok now what tractor are you talking about? Is the engine running? Does it have fluid? Are you operating the joystick for the FEL?

No, thanks for asking. The small tractor will not pick up a bucket of dirt. The grapple will close, after I use it awhile, it will not open back up. (L2550)
The big tractor will raise the box blade, but within 50 yds its dragging. M9000 I changed the filters and hydraulic fluid on both these.

So you have two tractors with hydraulic issues?

in any event drop $20 on a 5000 PSI hydraulic pressure gauge and start checking pressures.

Tony , did they both just start having this problem ? Was it there before the hydraulic oil & filter change ? What did the old fluid look like when you changed it , any metal shavings or did it smell like it may have burned ? What hydraulic fluid did you use ? If you lift the loader to the top of its reach power the tractor off & see how long it takes for the loader to bleed down .

Hydraulic oil was dark and ugly.
The L2550 has been having problems for a long time, 1year.
The M 9000 just started the box blade drop. It's a big box blade. It did better after the Hyd oil change.
I'll try the pressure gauge.

is there a valve that controls the 3PH drop rate like on our smaller machines? (Ours is a knob beneath the seat).

If so, try closing that valve some on your M. Since you say that its a really heavy box blade, maybe the bounce is causing it to drop?

Do you know what you are looking for and where to look with that gauge?
