Wheel Hop as your driving down the street

Question for anyone that may have the same deal as I have been experiencing here as of late. I have the AG tires on my 2018 L3901 with the manual transmission.

I was driving up the road to do a favor for a neighbor and noticed the tractor was hopping like it either has a flat spot on the tire or the axle is bent on one side ?

I want to say I feel it more on the right side then the left, while cruising in 3rd gear, in High mode on the selector, maybe turning 2100 RPM. 8-10 MPH @ best.

I have just 20 hours on this machine so far and what little bits of work it has been doing has been light duty, less moving some fresh dumped 1/4" crushed rock for a neighbor.

Was it a paved road? If so check to see if the tractor was locked into FWD.

I agree with the last appender... my first thought is that the tractor was locked in 4WD. (either intentionally...or it is not unlocking as it should)

Filled tires ? , I have a new B2601 thoughts I have had is what is the fluid doing will driving down the road at a decent speed.

Make sure both rear tires are inflated to the same PSI. Over inflated will make you feel the treads more going down the road. Also, check the bolts holding the 2 piece rims together to make sure they are all tight along with checking the lug nuts.

I've got a BX with filled turf tires, so not the same setup at all, but I always feel some wheel hop when going from parked in my garage to driving down the asphalt. After a couple hundred yards, it settles down quite a bit and I don't notice it anymore. So in my case I think it's temporary flat spots that work themselves out.

How far are you are you going to get to the neighbor's?

As many have stated, make sure you are not in 4WD. I have ag tires on my B3200 and do not get any hop driving on paved surfaces in 2WD. Maybe travel a bit in 2WD before hitting paved surface just to make sure?

I doubt that you have a mechanical issue. You can get flat spots from sitting, depending on surface and how long it has sat. I've experienced it on both of our tractors, but not all the time.

I'm with hodge, if the tractor sits for a while it will cause the tires to have a flat spot till you drive on the for a while. The log skidder I operated would be really bad after a long weekend. You would feel it even while running thru the woods.

My mini work van does that first thing on the road.
