V1502 compression test

I have a kubota v1502 engine in a payloader and it has a very hard time starting
I did a compression test and it reads max 200 psi all cylinders. When I dump some oil in I can get about 270 max. Can someone tell me what the minimal compression pressure should be

You need a rebuild, or a new engine!

a rebuild with new pistons, and probably rods too. I do not ever use oil in the cylinder on a diesel to find out where the leakage is. There is such little space between the crown of the piston and the bottom of the head that hydraulic-lock is a very real, and common, possibility. Hydraulic lock also results in bent rods, cracked crankshafts, beat up rod bearings, etc. Thus I do not recommend doing it. Not even "a few drops"

did ya check the valve clearance yet?
