I just switched over to SUDT in my B7610 for the winter. The published capacity for the HST transmission is 4.04 gallons. I opened all three drain plugs, let it drain a long time and changed both filters yet I only got a little over 3 gallons in the tractor before the dip stick was reading full. I started it and ran it around exercising the FEL, steering and box blade, and everything seems to work fine.

Is there a gallon of hydraulic fluid hiding out somewhere that won't drain completely when changing the fluid or did I miss a drain plug somewhere?

Thanks in advance.

I have the same tractor and with confidence I can tell you that the amount of fluid you drained is as good as it gets.

The book will list the capacity of the HST and when filled at factory that's what it takes to fill it. Now comes you and it's impossible to drain the complete HST as there are LOTS of nooks and crannies in there. Quite possibly it has the ability to hide more than a gallon when draining.
