Ive had a lx2610 ten months or so now, and from the time i received it the stationary pto switch won’t work. It won’t light up and obviously the rear pto stalls the tractor when seat pressure is removed. Im sick of putting a rock on my seat. I can’t send it back to dealership because of my location.

is there an easy way to jump out the seat safety? Or any known issues with the switch? Wiring diagrams? Thanks.

I have the L2501. The instruction manual indicates that if the PTO is running you can then get out of the seat and flip it up to keep everything running. You do have to flip the seat within two seconds of getting up or something like that. Read the manual to confirm.

i appreciate the response, but the lx series has a button on dash rather then the flip up seat. The manual is pretty terrible regarding this part. I think its left vague so people dont try to jump the safety or something. I suspect something is loose or unplugged behind the dash panel, ill be diving into that this weekend.

I’m not familiar with your tractor either. Does your seat have a lever where it will Allow the seat to pop up and swivel?

you sure can, takes about 5 minutes.

Make a 3" piece of wire, that has two male blade connectors on each end, for roughly 14-18ga wire size.

There are about 8 screws under the seat that hold the bottom plastic cover in place. Remove those screws, and just pull the lower cover away a few inches. You will see the operator presence switch. Unplug the 2 wires from the switch. They are female bade connectors, plug in the jumper wire you made to them.

sorry about the poor photo

I have an LX2610 also. We just got a chipper set up and went to test it, and the Stationary PTO button on ours doesn't work either. Short of placing some suitcase weights on the seat, we could build a bypass jumper (thanks to the person who replied with the location of the seat sensor terminals). Will be calling the dealer in the morning to see what they have to say.

Have you made sure to lock the hand brake lever down firmly before using the pto while up off the seat?

That is the only "switch" I need to engage on my B2650 to be off the seat, and running the rear PTO for my chipper for example. The seat remains in normal position.

My B2650 seat switch/pto/hand brake interlock is an integral part of the hand brake lever mechanism.
I found this out after maintenance adjusting my hand brake pedal play to spec, that the brake lever wasn't doing its job telling the tractor to keep running when I got up off the seat with rear pto engaged. It turned out that the brake lever sensing button behind the dash also needed adjusting to the newly adjusted brake tolerances.

Not sure if the LX2610 sports the same pto safety system as my B2650, but worth a look IMO.

Adding to nbryan, make sure the brake is set AND the parking brake light is illuminated. It only knows it’s in park if the light is on.

One of the changes from the B2650 to the LX2610 was to replace the “flip the seat up to allow stationary PTO” to a button on the dash. This was an improvement, they claimed, and I guess if it wasn’t broken on my tractor, it would be.

I do not have to flip the seat up to run the PTO in stationary mode on my B2650. Just make sure the e-brake is engaged.

The adding the ebrake indicator light on the LX2610 is a good idea, though, as I have had a few instances where the ebrake was set but not pressed down hard and I did not notice the brake drag after forgetting it was set. Operating it in first gear unnoticed without releasing it is possible on my machine, so an indicator light of it being engaged would be a welcome feature.

If I remember correctly here is the stationary pto procedure I use. Try engaging brake, select Neutral , flip seat forward and then engage pto button, this is the procedure I use for my L and MX series.

Just figured this out on my lx2610. Had to set parking brake, then hold down button for a few seconds and it lit up. Didn't need to be in neutral or flip seat. To deactivate I turned off parking brake.
