Starter motor problems

Hi all,

have recently replaced the starter motor on my f3680.

However the new one seems to be of a different design and only has a single post as opposed to 2 posts.

there is now no way I can see to connect the fuel stop solenoid to the starter. Is my only option to find the correct starters or is there a way around this

I would try it on the big post that‘s inboard on the solenoid next to the block. That way it’ll be hot when starting which is how the old one was wired.

I don't see an inboard and outboard post on new starter so until I do see both posts I reserve my answer. I'm thinking new starter requires the addition of a remote solenoid.

Yeah, lets over complicate things by adding a solenoid
If twigtree can fish that ring terminal through through the dust boot on the inboard lug this would require no modification at all. Option B is to splice the wire onto the wire that energizes the solenoid when you hit start.

Why would the shut off solenoid need power when cranking?

It shouldn't but since electronics mfgring is a major part of Japan's economy Kubota uses as many wiz-bang figitbit electrical devices as possible to generate demand for after market parts and dealer repair. Fuel has been shut off for decades with a simple push/pull wire and this mower could be as well if owner chose to but that wouldn't sell parts.

Pulls the solenoid into the running position and then is held in that position by a separate coil in the solenoid. When key is released from the start position the pull coil is de-energized.
