Anyone ever put end plates on a rear blade to use it similar to a box blade with out ripper shanks to move dirt around

Topic came up in last month or two.

Seems there was a picture or two also.

Check through the Implements section.

I used side plates on my 7’ Land Pride blade for snow plowing. The plates worked well, but the cutting edge itself was too hard on the pavement. Installed a poly cutting edge and the side plates won’t fit anymore :(
I will be laying out gravel soon and will likely put the steel edge and plates back on.

I have bolt on sides for my blade. Really like them. Pretty much makes a box blade use wise, other than its a longer overall attachment.

Also modified the blade to have teeth.

Someone had pictures on here I dont remember who it was,, but I went to the metal shop bought 2 pieces of 3/8 sheet as high as the blade is when it is sitting level and about 8 inches wide.. Then took some 2 inche angle,,cause thats what I had laying around and cut it in to 1 1/2 long pieces... 1 1/2 by 2. Drilled 1/2 holes because I had 1/2 bolts then marked 3 spots on the side piece drilled it,, and with the brackets in place drilled 3 holes in the back blade and boltes it in place... then I found a piece of 2 x4 tubing because ( yeah thats right) thats what I could find and took it up to lil bro and had him weld the tube to each side piece..most likely didnt need to but it made me feel good,,, and yeah it would bring my BX to a halt if I loaded it up on Dads driveway. So yeah 20 bucks maybe no ripper teeth but for spreading stone it didnt work bad
