Have a L6060 with a front snowblower. Looking for thoughts/recommendations on a rear mounted sander/salter. Either electric or PTO. Something like the Land Pride FSP500 is inexpensive ( up to 1k) but not designed for salt/sand. Next steps up cost several thousand. PTO driven spreading width controlled by speed (rpms). Ekectric allows greater control of spread width and optional vibrating plates to break up clumps.. Even contemplated a tow behind manual drop spreader. 800 feet gravel steep gravel driveway.
Soliciting your thoughts and experiences. As always, thanks gang.
Why do you say the FSP spreaders are not suited for sand and salt? LP thinks that they are.
I have an FSP 500, but I have only used it for fertilizer and insecticide granules.
Land Pride's FSP500, FSP700 & FSP1000 rotary/spin type Broadcast Spreaders are capable of spreading seed, sand, salt, top dressings, lime, prilled/granular fertilizer, and most all other types of granular materials at delivery rates ranging from 43-890 lbs. per acre. Agitator extension comes standard. The spread rate, capability, and range of hopper capacities make FSP Spreaders well suited for applications on farms, golf courses, food plots, park systems, athletic fields, campuses, and smaller municipal or commercial operations.
They excel at spreading sand or salt for control of ice and snow.
