don't worry about the fancy shop, with a hinge you'll clear the door and probably leave it down most of the time, keep those branches from getting ya

attached pictures of a roll bar from a Hustler Super Z, factory issue so rated for good weight. The top hoop is 24", while folded down like that it has a 4' height. I would definately go with grade 8 and wear a belt when using these

Ya'll are sure complicating the ROPS problem. Explain to to the Wife , AKA " the bank ", how a new shop is needed with a taller door for safety so no alteration needed.
