I ordered up a 3200, would it be a good idea to have a rear remote installed on it or should I attempt to do it myself.

Thanks!

When you say do it yourself, do you mean to install the Kubota OEM remote yourself or are you talking about buying aftermarket stuff and designing the set up yourself?

Since you have ordered the tractor, I would get the tractor with the remote-remotes already on it. I say remotes, because I would be getting at a minimum of 2 and at least one of them with the float function. ;)

I didn't have the mechanical ability to install my own, so I had my dealer include them when I configured the tractor. I agree with MtnViewRanch, I got three.

I was thinking about doing it with aftermarket items. Any idea what Kubota charges for the remotes?

The kit for my L3000 was $600 + install. I added my own for way under half that. If I had it to do over again I would have gone with 2 sets.

My dealer charged me $500, but all he did was run a hose from the FEL control to the rear end and back to the block under the gas pedal. He put a quick disconnect set in the hose in the back. I ended up putting a regular valve on the back for an implement.
So I believe all you are looking at is a couple of hoses and a disconnect set. I would not pay him to do it again...

The attached pictures show the quick disconnect the dealer gave me, the new hoses by the hydraulic manifold (the new hoses are the ones in the cloth jackets), and the valve I ended up installing. On my valve, the two hoses with the red and blue plastic caps are the two hoses I got for $500. I bought several sets of the DIXON QD fittings, for about half of what the Kubota dealer wants.

I bought a new L3200 back in the Spring. Though I at the moment dont have a need for rear remotes I did have it priced. Kubota wanted $1200 installed to do it. I was going to buy a setup for about $275, But they refused to install anything but OEM. I figure if I ever need it I'll do it myself anyway, but would have been nice to have had it done at the dealer during the predelivery but for that price no thanks.
