I use a 3PH drawbar and added my own home made receiver hitch. I use a combo pintle/ball hitch with it.

I like using the 3PH mount because I can hook and move trailers without getting out of my seat.

You guys gave me a lot of choices I never thought of. Today I am going to line up tractor to trailer at the 3 point and FEL to yan idea of what would be easier. I am also going to measure to see if I can just add it to the box blade.

Buy a length of receiver tube and you can mod/weld things as required. I also added receivers to my chipper and bush hog for moving small LD trailers around.

Well I played around with the tractor and trailers. I don't think using the FEL is a good option for me because it's difficult to see the trailer coupler from the driver's seat
I am leaning towards one for the quick coupler and/or welding the pintle to my box blade.
Thanks to this thread, I may still be using a FEL type with my bobcat

I torched a 1" hole near the end of one of the pallet forks and pop a ball in there to move trailers around. Use it a lot for my 5x8 5000lb dumper trailer, and it is indeed important to have down pressure to keep the tongue in control. When I dump a load all the way up the tongue lifts up with the weight of the load and the box shifting back on the trailer.

One of my tractors jobs will be moving trailers around my equipment yard. the yard is under an acre and flat. Trailers are tandem axle and empty. 20' flat beds with pintle and 500 gal water trailers with 2" coupler. Not much weight for my MX5400. A receiver for my 3 point looks like a good option. I have a land pride quick hitch and the implement side is CAT 1.
The receivers vary greatly in price and I wanted input on what some of you use.
Here you go. Best hitch out there that i`ve ever used.

If you have employees, you just scrapped your forks. FYI Torching forks is a no-no, if you have an accident due to your mods you are going to have an unhappy experience with the MOL.

No employees. What's with the "scrapped your forks"?

Probably workplace safety regs problem with forks meant to carry loads around being modified / annealed by torching a hole in them. Not a problem if you're solo though!

Actually got the idea from the trailer store I bought my 18' PJ car (tractor) hauler from. The shop worker used a skidsteer fork with a ball popped in a hole near the end to roll trailers around inside the shop and outside to deliver to me. Looks like it's work for them for years. And this a a shop that does highway truck and trailer inspections too! And the tech that was moving around my unit was an inspector.
So I'm not too worried about messing up the forks. The hole is about 4-5" back from the tip, through full-thickness fork metal, so unless I were to wedge the forks tip between some massive rocks and try to pry at them using the forks right at the spot the hole is, with full tractor power and weight, then the forks aren't going to bend.
Oh wait, I already did that! And they didn't bend.
