REAR BLADE

I just brought a 72” LP rear blade for my B2650. When I went to install it. I had a hard time getting one of the lower arms to slide onto the pin. It acts like the lower arm won’t open wide enough to slide over it. Am I doing something wrong or are the pins on the blAde too long? Thanks for any advice

Have you loosened the turnbuckles/ limiters as far as they will go?

Yes I did that was the first thing I did.

On a lot of them you can flip the pins to the inside to help you out a little.

On my old Ford 8n - I had the same problem, as you swing out one side and get it hooked the other side will not reach.

the simple answer is this - once you ever get it on, place the blade on a couple of logs/blocks anything that will allow you to slide the one side that is hooked up over the amount needed to get the other side hooked up.

As you slide the one side on with the blade stationary, you lost those 3+ inches of movement, that is probably the amount you need back to get the other side on.

Did you pull both of the lower link pins (both sides)? make sure that the rear blade is roughly centered behind the tractor as well. See Circled in red:

One more thing, do not connect the top link until both of the lower links are connected. A quick hitch may be in your future...

Bucktail - I thought the same thing ! But the LP he is using I think is this one and it is one way only!

Yea I took the pins out both the lower link arms. Thanks for all the advice I will try this and see if it helps. Yeah I think a QH is in my future too

Yes I had the same problem with my lil BX but some implements like the 500lb + bb can be tough to move on rough ground.

As 85Hokie said get one side on and pry the implements over enough to get other side on. A couple times of that and you'll for sure have that QH!

If his blade is like post #7, the QH needs an extended top hook like this one

I had this issue and didn't want to wait 2-3 days and used an angle grinder and cut-off wheels to remove some steel for the top hook
