6' rear blade with old cutting edges for weight, hung from S hooks. Where would you hang them? Edges/ends or middle? I usually have them on each end of the blade but want to try concentrating the weights in the middle.
I would put the weights on the frame/structure that attaches to the 3 pt. Otherwise, they will be a pain when you adjust the blade. I also think the performance would be more consistent added to the frame/structure.
Can you adjust the tilt of the blade ? My ancient blade does this and it made a world of difference for grading the driveway. OK, it took me 3 hours of heat, oil and 'perswaysion',but it's now EASY to adjust 'just right'....
My rear blade usage over the years has been mostly for snow. In that application, weight wasn't an issue. I tried doing some grading a few times and didn't have much success. Some posters mention that it worked for them, but with blades much heavier than any I've had.
When I did have some serious grading to do I bought a used box blade with scarifiers for the project and resold it when done.
Most of my usage is snow removal, I reverse the blade so that it does not cut. My question was about weight distribution, center or edges. I can tilt the blade but it is too much angle for what I do.
