There is not some difference in quality of the quick hitches as there is in quality of the implements. Cheaper Implements= Cheaper Quality.

A friend was telling me he bought a Harbor Freight Quick Hitch some years ago and found that a boat anchor would be the the best use for it. He also said if I wanted it to come get it out of his way.

I have not used a quick hitch with my BX23 and am not really sure how to set it up and what I need to set it up. But heck, free is hard to pass up.

Of course there are no pins or adapters with this QH so do I need to buy these? I use the 3ph for a flail mower, box blade, scrape blade, bush hog, and fertilizer spreader.

Don't want to reinvent the wheel so any set up tips would be greatly appreciated.

If I cannot get it to work I guess it would be a good excuse to buy a boat and use it for an anchor.:D
NCridgerunner,

Seems to me that everyone that has a Kubota usually searches out stuff from the dealer, viz., landpride, etc....Then there is HF.

IMO, these "HAIRPIN" style quick hitches are big and cumbersome. There is another solution. It's called Pat's quick hitch. They are all well made and are strong. They also sell an extension for the top link that deals with the extra length. There are you tube videos also that tell how to put them on.

Here is an Amazon link to the pat's quick hitch and some others.

Good luck on your choice.

Maybe so. However, the "King Kutter" rear blade guys didn't seem to know there is the QH with a top hook and so the spacer pipe OD is somewhat larger than the opening of the hook. Also, they slant the vertical bars such that they tend to interfere with the top "plates" of the QH, making an easy from the seat connection not that easy. Regardless, the QH makes the connecting up much easier than the methods needed without the QH.

The photo is of the BX and its blade. I have a larger blue tractor with a larger blade at my cabin. That "King Kutter blade parts are so slanted that there would be even more interference. I'm thinking of getting out the torch and change that blade's parts.
I used a flap wheel on my grinder to take the paint off the inside of the top hook because the sleeves I bought for my non-quick hitch designed implement were tight. Now they slip right in. Not sure what you mean about the slant of the vertical bars, if it's front to back that can be solved by adjusting the parking stand of the implement. A little higher at the front will tilt the bars back, making it easier to hook up.
