I had a lawn crew out yesterday for spring clean up....
They spread 35 yards of mulch but also put my tractor on its side.
I’ve got the tractor on level ground now, but the engine won’t turn over now.
Hard to explain fully, it’s acting close to a seized motor..... u get just a slight crank/turn of the motor.... that’s it.
Not like the safety switches seat, pto, hydro when you get nothing.
Battery is fully charged.

Oil looks to be about 1 qt low. Not sure of a low oil safety switch?

Any and all help appreciated.....

Thanks,
Ric

Sounds like Hydro Lock.
Stop trying to start it.
You need to pull the glow plugs out to purge the liquid out of the cylinders.
Hopefully you did not bend the connecting rods.
$$$
You will need to do a compression test to verify that your engine is ok.
Good luck.

Hydro locked, oil in the cylinders.
And now for the real kick in the back side, it's probably already done some serious damage. :(

What happens when they hydrolock is, when you try and start them, it bends the connecting rods, or breaks the lands on the pistons, or both.

You will need to remove the injectors or glow plugs or both, purge all the oil out of the engine, then do a compression test, it you have one or more cylinder with low compression you'll need to do a rebuild. ;)

The moral of the story is, for others to know, before trying to start a tipped over machine, remove the glow plugs or injectors to allow any fluid in the cylinder to escape!

Then, once all fluids are off the pistons and fluid brought back to normal levels you should be good to go without damage.

I would be finding a new lawn crew. Could be an expensive job.

If the unit was left running while on its side for any length of time, the oil pump pickup tube is away from the oil and the engine begins to seize.

Did you shut it off or did it run until it shut itself off?
Big difference

I'd bet its oil hydrolocked and may have bent rod or rods

I wasn’t around........

Wouldn’t the tractor shut off once one fell off the seat?
I don’t know what happened when they tried to restart it.....

For me, 3 hrs later.......... I only got about a 10 degree crank and stop.....
