How would you hook a chain or rope to the base of a very young cedar so you can pop it out of the ground with a tractor?
I used a 5/16" log chain wrapped around it 2 or 3 wraps, hooked the end back on itself, hooked the other end on my loader SSQA frame or the forks, and plucked it out. Kind of taxing if you have more than a few, but it's good exercise.
Edit: Since I have more than a few, I sprung for a Landhonor tree puller. It's not the best available but, after modifying it, it'll pull little trees up to 6" or so.
