Hello. I have a L2500 thats overheating. I searched through the forum and found a bunch of solutions people have mentioned. I am in the process of going over all those now. After blowing out the radiator some of the fins still looked clogged. Has anyone ever taken a radiator out with the front loader still on? Looks like it may be doable but a pain. ALSO..where on this gauge should the needle be for the pto be at the correct speed.

According to the marker after the number 540, I would say 2625 rpm's if I'm reading the tach correctly.

Remove the screen from in front of the radiator. Try running water through the radiator fins from the back to the front to help remove anything wedged in there. You can do other stuff before removing the radiator. You can disconnect the radiator hoses and flush the engine block with water. Then you can reverse flush the block. Remove the thermostat first as it will impede or stop water flow. Flushing the radiator this way doesn't work as well due to all the restricting capillary tubes. With this done, put everything back together and fill the system with distilled water. Run it at least until it's hot and perhaps fifteen minutes beyond that. Let it cool a bit and drain it. Now fill again with distilled water and see if the tractor overheats. If not all is well. Drain and refill with antifreeze mix. If it still overheats you may still need to pull the radiator but at least you know your block is pretty clean.

ONE POINT,, do not use a pressure washer to try and clean out the rad,, that makes things all bendy.. Take a spray bottle or a gallon sprayer mixed with simple green or that purple stuff, warm it up and shut it down spray the rad and let it set for a while maybe 10 min, Then use your water hose to wash it out. it is surprising how much crap comes out

If it was mine then PTO speed would be the bold line near 2800 RPM.

On mine the 540 marker points more exactly to the bolder mark
