Nobody here would want to pay for it, but a hydraulic unit like they have on firetrucks would be the cat's behind. I had a hand in designing some. At (ballpark) $1000/kw, they are spendy. But they're fully regulated and electronically controlled. Lower rpm can be used for lower loads. www.smartpower.com

That's pretty cool alas they need to operate at a higher RPM and most smaller tractor PTOs work ( 540) , though I did pass this along to my one Son In Law who is a firefighter
