My first posting on this forum, I am looking at a 9540 with a Hy shuttle trans they said it slips in reverse, question is what would cause this and how much is it going to take to fix?

If it's truly only slipping in reverse and not forward than I would suspect the shuttle valve is not working correctly.
But if it's actually slipping in both then I would think more towards the hydraulic clutch pack is failing.

Both are not that hard to work on, but both are not "cheap" to repair or replace.
You could be looking at $1500+ in parts and 1000+ in labor so act accordingly.
