Hello all. New to tractors and to this forum. I have a B2601 with a brush hog implement. I had no problems with removing the brush hog but attaching it back on was a bear. by myself and had to call a neighbor. Took us about an hour. Is there an easier or just easy way to put it back on? I followed the manual best I could before the hammer came out and I had to power my way through. Got it on and all is ok but it was rough .

Congrats on your new tractor.
First off, does your tractor have telescoping lower 3 point links? If so, just pull the pin on them so they can swing side to side and drop the lower links below the mower pin holes. You can then lift the lower 3 point hitch arms into position by hand (there is no downforce in the 3 point arms, so you can lift them easily).
The second (and easiest option) is to get yourself a quick hitch (if your brush hog is new/compatible). You would just need to make sure the your PTO shaft is long enough when adding a quick hitch since it will push your mower about 4 inches further back.

If you are storing it outside that is part of the problem. Just a little rust or dirt will make the job a lot harder.
Make sure that the pins are wire brushed, clean and lubed. Make sure the PTO shaft coming out of the tractor is cleaned and lubed. Wire brush the inside of the mowers PTO shaft and lube it.
How are you setting it off? Lay a 4x4 or a fence post under the front corners. One piece of wood would be best. Line up one ball joint and push it onto the pin. Now you can push the wheel back and forth to get the other ball joint lined up. Slid it onto the pin. Then do the PTO shaft. Last the top link.
The more often you do it the easier it will be.

Thanks for the fast reply. I don't have the telescopic 3 point links. Raising it before attempting to put it on was my only idea since my ordeal.
I am sure I will get more proficient in attaching it as I go along.
Just giving it the old army try was a bit much and I figured there has to be an easier way.

I am not sure on your specific problem, but I generally use this method to hook up my rotary cutter. You can skip to 2:40 to see what I am referring to.
Thank you so much for this video. I was having problems with lifting the mower to the right height. I really appreciate it.
I did this and had to return the Quick Hitch because the hook wasn't long enough to get into my top link on my LP 1860 Cutter. It needs to extend about another 1.5-2" to fully engage the top pin.

Problem is implement isn't fully QH compatible. If brush cutter has a top linkage that can flex the extended hook should work.

It's best to always have the implement level and at the proper height when unhooking. That way re-hooking is plug-n-play.
Get rid of the hook. Its useless get this...
It allows the cutter to move as it should and easily hooks to every implement.
