Hi Foiks,

Today I take possesion of a L3130. It was sold into service October of 2006. It has 216 Hours on the meter.

I called the local dealer and in January of 2018 they had the machine in for service. They did:

Oil & Filter
Fuel Filter
Air Filter
Front Boots
Hydralic Filter

Per the Manual, it looks like all I need to do is check the tire pressure and grease ( it appears grease only the 3pt hydralics ). Everyting else is 50 hrs with no time limit. I don't think the current owner has done anything but run it 40 hour the past three years. What do you suggest so I get off to a good start with my first tractor since I was driving Grandpas as a Kid ( 50 years ago )?

Read the manual, take your time, and have fun.

Keep an eye on all your fluids to make sure there is no hidden leaks/issues that you aren't aware of.

I would give it a good washing and while doing so great time to check for leaks or anything else that might catch your eye that needs addressing.

Give the whole tractor a good grease job, at this time you can verify all zerks are taking grease and learn where they are.

I'm little OCD so I would wax it next, bring back the shine and makes future cleaning easier. I wax mine once a year, they are big investments and will last for years if we look after them.

Enjoy it and let it help you make jobs easier.

lastly it needs a name! My tractor is Katie Kubota, named by my daughter and I. No one refers to Katie as a tractor she is Katie. In fact my uncle was up yesterday and we were loading some things in his truck. He said we may need Katie to lift this one......

If it has been sitting for the last 2+ years, you should change the oil again (I think my manual says yearly).

Verify that wheel lug bolt/nuts are tight, loader subframe is attached well and bolts are tight, put air in tires...

Oh check radiator fluid level and verify it is correct mix strength for your area

Put algaecide in fuel tank, make sure diesel fuel is good for the temperature in your area.
