I sold our 9 1/2 year old Frontier RC2048. Plan to buy a 4 foot Landpride and possibly also a Kubota RTV 520 from Beverage Tractor just over the mountain from us here in Charlottesville.

Anything I should know about the Landpride, maybe a Woods instead?

I had a 4ft. LandPride cutter for almost 20 years and never had any issues. I also had a 54” Woods tiller for about the same time. Never any issues with that implement either. They’re both good companies that sell light and heavy duty grade implements. Choose according to your uses.

Could you fellows tell me whether or not one of the small 25 hp little tractors will handle a bush hog? I have 6 acres of pasture to care for.
Thanks

Also look at the one from everything attachments. It's pretty much like the Landpride one but has a couple of impovements. I had a 4' Landpride one for a couple of months it worked well and I had no issues with it. It sold with the old tractor and I haven't had a need to replace it yet.

Yes, you just need the right width.

As you can see from my signature, I run a 5 foot Landpride Rotary cutter on my 25 hp LX, and it has provided great service for 2 years. I reclaimed a small field (briars, weeds, saplings - around the perimeter and many smaller fallen limbs, mowed about 10 acres of fields full of briars and 5 ft. tall weeds and mowed heavy 3 ft. tall fescue along the road side. I had to take is slow with the tall green fescue, but everything else was done at normal mowing speed. Obviously, cutting down the briar patches is done slowly, carefully to avoid hitting what might be in the briar patch - like a pile of rocks or a stump.

I used a 4 foot rotary cutter for over 15 years with a 25 hp (19 pto hp) for 15 years and it worked fine. But I was primarily cutting grass, weeds, and light brush.

A tractor with 25 PTO HP will handle a 5' rough cut mower in most conditions if it is not too heavy.

Need 5 hp/ft. The weight of a 5 footer on a small tractor could give you issues on hills and will stick out past the rear tires.

I bought a Landpride 4 footer. The dealer also had Woods units. He recommended the Landpride. The blades come off, leaving the stump jumper in place like my Frontier RC did.

I sold the Frontier and bought new just because I didn't want to go through mucking with replacing the blades, bolts and nuts on the old unit. It was 9 1/2 years old.

Though I have never used a 4' cutter, I easily R & R the blades on all of my Woods cutters without removing the blade carrier. Have 5', 6' and 15' Woods cutters and have previously owned 7' and 10 1/2' Woods cutters. Blade replacement system on all is better than I have found on any other brand.

I have the Landpride RCR1884 rotary cutter and have used it for the last couple of summers. Overall it's a good cutter but I wonder if a dual spindle would have been a better choice. I've removed the blades a couple of times to swap them out with a sharper set ( I have two sets) and it's a bit of a hassle with access to the blade bolts via a hole in the deck. Now that I have an M18 impact it should go a lot faster since the IR air impact and IR compressor struggled with those two bolts.

Very nice. However, the front tire on the RTV seems oversized in your photo. ;)
