i put the triple bagger through its paces and it worked great on my 1870 i run it between (low pile)2200 and 2500 RPM (deep pile) chops up the leaves.only 2 times it clogged due to me going through a very deep section of leaves with the deck on number 2 on deck height, i recommend the bagger set

Must be that time of year! I just finished picking up this years leaves with the same BX and bagger system. Overall, I too am quite happy with this set up. The vast majority of our leaves are maple, with some cherry, apple and who knows what thrown in. We have some steep ground and it has been fairly wet this Fall. I hung about 125 pounds of ballast off the front end to help with steering. My steer tires would wash out going up-hill when the bags were close to full with wet leaves. For the last nine years I have been using a John Deere 425 with a Power Flow and cart set-up. For suction, the two systems seem pretty equal. The cart holds a little more material but the bags are handier around the trees. Another nice thing with the Kubota is the ability to pull the bagger boot off the deck and run only the rear PTO when raking out a flower bed. The JD blower ran off of the outboard deck spindle. The Kubota bagger does take longer to mount or remove. Not a big deal for me as I don't bag except during leaf season.

Sorry Skeets, like the OP, I don't have any tractor porn to post either.

I have the kubota bagger on my bx25d and love it. I had a john deere 455 with powerflow bagger. In my opinion..for what its worth...the two systems arent even in the same league. The kubota unit is a better device with better flow at least in my use cases.

I occasionally see these come up for sale on Craigslist with the three point attachment. Do the older B series, B5100 - B7200 ( 12 -17 hp) have the HP to mow and drive the blower? Does anyone know if there are published HP requirements for these baggers?

All I can tell you is that HP is no problem with our BX1870 with a 54" deck and the Kubota bagger. We had a strange Fall for us in that the grass was still growing while the leaves were coming down. So, clipping grass/picking up maple leaves and going uphill, not a bad test. RPM drop was less than 100. As I mentioned earlier, what I did have to do was add front ballast due to heavy, wet leaves and steep hills. HTH's
