I have an ancient Mott Flail Mower HD72

The Roller lost a bearing.

Any idea how this comes apart.

I suspect is is a nut but I don't want to start twisting things off if they're not meant to doo that.

I have a schematic but its nor very clear.

Getting a replacement protective casting would also be helpful

Thx

Jim

Here is what I could find?
I would use a pickle fork and separate the roller from the pin and bracket.
Do not attempt to remove the pin from the bracket just yet.
Doesn't matter if you damage the bearing as you'll be installing a new one.
Once apart you can evaluate the pin and see if anything needs to be done to it, might be just a matter of getting the inner part of the bearing off and reassembling.

Here is a repair pin:

Hi Wolfman,

Thanks for the input.
This may be one of the very early models. the drawing shows a shaft with a nut on the end.
so i'm wondering if some heat and holding the other end fast may break it loose.

Carrie @ Flailmaster was kind enough to send me the manual.

Thx
