If there's room on the snowblower frame, you could make a 4:1 reduction unit..
input(from MidPTO has 2" sprocket, layshaft has 4" and 2" then output has 4".

4----2
from MPTO---2 4----- to blower

both input and output shafts are 'inline'.
the 64K$ question is does it spin the correct way !

All the front mount blowers I have seen are made to use a 2000 rpm shaft.

It looks like there are 3 options potentially

1. 540 RPM Mid PTO kit PART #L8338 MID PTO Kit for Grand L 40 Series Tractors. According to messiclick sales rep this is what I need
I cant find any literature on this part or description but according to Messick it is independent mid-mount 540 RPM PTO

2.
2000 RPM to 540 RPM gearbox reducer?
Where can I buy this ? Who has the links/ part numbers ?

3.
Front mounted Snowblowers that run at 2000 RPM
Which front mounted snow blowers run at 2000rpm?
I've been searching all day and haven't seen any

thats great news because all the blowers Ive been looking at say 540 or 1000

Which blowers can use the 2000 rpm shaft?
My MF blower runs at 2000, it has a reducer build into it, that cuts it back to 1000. Also I saw a Kubota blower set up, that ran off the front.

The snowblowers that you are looking at that requires 540rpm are most likely rear mounted blowers, not front mounted. Your choices for front mounted are going to be very limited to mainly the Kubota one, unless you do some adaptations to make it fit. Does your tractor have the mid mount PTO already on it?

here's one ,old, version. covers off to see inside....
Now How I found this in my backup harddrive is kinds scary....

how it works...
2000rpm drives 8 tooth which drives 15 tooth(1st chain)
that 15 tooth drives 2nd 8 tooth (keyed onto common shaft)
2nd 8 tooth drives 16 tooth(2nd chain)
so 2000 x8/15*8/16 is 533 RPM

Up here I'd buy parts from Princess Auto, south of 49th, maybe McMaster-Carr ? or a 'bearing supply' company. Obviously need to make the 'housing',but simple 'box with cover plates'.
A lot depends on skillset, access to tools, etc.
There are commerical units available, price unknown (bet $$$$ as not many sold ??) Principal use could be generator reduction units, so maybe google '2000 rpm to 540 reducers' ??
The 2 big questions are the HP the blower needs AND teh direction of rotation. Everything has to be made for that.

A possible option may be to run the rear 540 PTO underneath to the front to the blower. Have seen that 'trick' done several times.

That makes sense

I want to run a 3rd party blower
Lorenz, Erskine or Pronovost
Ideally im looking to run a Pronovost 82126-GV snow blower on the front of the tractor either by a front mount hitch or a putting it on a 3 point loader mount

Oh yeah im aware it runs on a 540 rpm pto
I do not want to run the Kubota blower I need to run and aftermarket blower that chews through the snow much more efficiently and is built to heavy duty standards the Pronovost blower is what I want to run

Yes the mid Mount pto is already installed on the tractor

Another factor to consider is the fan rotation direction. When looking at the auger, 3pt mounted and my small MF front mounted, have clock wise fans. Most front mounted seem to be C.C.W.

Have you heard anyone mounting a front mount to the rear of an L2501? I realize the fan and auger are going CCW when you hook up the pto so I am wondering if anyone has got around that issue.

No I have not. But I don't know why you would, when it is so easy to just get a 3 Pt mount blower. Even if you have a front mount blower, it would be easier to sell it and get a 3pt mount.

To use a rear 3ph blower on the front requires
1) some kind of 3ph 'adapter'.... $$$ or make yourself
2) some form of CW to CCW 'gearbox', $$$$ or make yourself
3) MMM PTO shaft bodging of length
4) the rear PTO blower of course

will it work, yes
though if you buy 'off the self' parts ,they will be expensive
or
if you make it yourself, a time consuming but interesting project

It's a project where 'size does matter'. If the blower is less than 4 1/2' wide, I'd make it.
made a 4' SSQA gas powered one 3 years ago.<500 into it.hasn't snowed enough since to use it.
