Yea I saw this the other day. Im surprised he would try to drive that amount of weight into that trailer. Obviously it was planned as they stole both the trailer and the tractor and seemed to have their movements mapped out, but never thought about the fact that the trailer was drastically undersized for that amount of weight lol

Kind of surprised it hasn't happened before. When I worked for the Freightliner dealer I retired from, we had stuff stolen once in a while, including new trucks and a new toad tractor costs way more than a skid loader, way more.

One time they (thieves) came in during business hours and drove out with 3 new road tractors in broad daylight. A quick 600 grand.

Professional truck thieves are real good at stripping out what that want and they leave the rest sit abandoned.

They aren't 'nice' about getting what they want either, they tear up the trucks getting what they want. The 3 units that got taken, the thieves wanted the charge air coolers and rads and the ECM's and in dash instruments and while we recovered them, it took the body shop many hours to rebuild them. Of course insurance covered the loss but it's the inconvenience of it and the 'feeling dirty' aspect too.

Happens in every business. Most local thefts are drug related, local druggies steal to pay for drugs. Why I'm against reviving overdosed drug users and why I'm against legalized cannabis.

They do it with heavy equipment as well in coastal states. They can pull up to a construction site with a low boy and flashing lights and no one will give it a second look.

Load up the equipment and have it on a barge within a couple hours headed for international waters.

Happy for them that it was recovered.
Messicks videos have given me a wealth of information in a short time.

All thieves deserve a firing squad imho.

A local paving company has a gravel quarry way out in the country, and a few years ago in the fall they stockpiled a few thousand tons of processed gravel for a job the next spring. When they came back in the spring, it was all gone. They asked a couple of farmers who live on the same road if they had seen trucks hauling gravel coming and going late in the fall or over the winter. Both said they had seen trucks hauling out of the quarry for a couple of weeks, but never saw names on them or any other details.
They never did figure out who took it.
Serves them right, they are known to screw over subcontrators on a regular basis. My guess is that one of them got ever. Good for them.

I was talking to the Kubota salesman a while back. He said they have been stolen from multiple times. It seems he said zero turn mowers were often targeted. I think they have stolen some small tractors too. He said the store itself was broken into one night. A truck backed up to the front. The thieves broke the front glass, ran in and took every piece of Stihl equipment hanging on the wall within a few minutes and were gone. They were never caught. I think he said none of the thieves from any thefts were ever caught.
