Hello everyone,

I have a M9540 (4wd, Rops, shuttle), bought used recently. Have noticed the shuttle shift does not like to go into reverse. When you go to back up from a stop, when letting off the clutch, many times the shuttle shift will not fully go into reverse. So I have to put it back into neutral and put back in reverse and try again. It hasn’t kicked out of reverse once it’s been in (once actually moving backwards hasn’t stopped randomly) but it is a pain to get actually get into reverse. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

I think there are two possible shuttle mechanisms. Syncro shuttle and hydraulic shuttle
Please provide full model number of your tractor. Shuttle has cable to move inside trans. The cable would be my first suspect.

serial is 50950. I believe it’s the hydraulic shuttle mechanism. What do you think could be wrong with that cable?

It's a mechanical shuttle shift, not hydraulic.

You need to get the WSM to adjust the cable properly.
