Hello all,
I replaced the compressor, rcvr/drier, expansion valve and condenser on our 9540. I flushed the system thoroughly and used a 2 stage vacuum pump for several hours to evacuate. 4 ounces of oil and 30 ounces of refrigerant as specified. It is working great. I don't have a thermometer to check vent temp. It is cold. My questions are what high and low side pressures should I expect? Today, the temperature was 108 degrees and quite humid. The high side pressure was 300psi the low side was 45 at 1800 rpm. The air was cool in cab. The other day was a high 90s and humid, vent cold and high side was 250 psi low was 40 psi at 2000 rpm. When the rpm dropped lower , 1500 rpm, high side was about 200. I shudder when I see that 300 psi . I have an electric fan on condenser also. Are the pressures I'm seeing in the ballpark of normal? Another thing I am wondering is the compressor always runs. In the 4 years I have been working with this tractor I have never seen this system cycle on and off. Is THAT normal? Any insight on this ac system is greatly appreciated

Pressures look good to me considering outside temps.

A low side switch would normally kick the compressor off after it gets down to 30-32 psi. Since most tractors have an expansion block instead of an orifice tube, it might not ever get that low.
