I just purchased one of these tractors and it’s very hard to shift. On top of this gear 3 runs slower than 2. Very strange….. Also gear 7 can run either 4 mph or 7.5mph both being at 1500 RPMs. How is that even possible? The correct speed is roughly 4mph but when it’s not right I can quickly goto parking then back to gear 7 and most times corrects the issue. The tranny seems really screwed up and dealer is sending out a tech Monday. Anyone else heard of this before? I really like the tractor otherwise.

The linkage can get messed up, or not adjusted right, will make it hard to shift. You can get it into 2 different gears in the same slot, if you apply a side pressure one way or the other a bit.... If you find a WSM manual online, you'll see how it all works. You likely have issues going into Park too?
Sounds like your "7" could also be going into '9' depending how you wiggle it.
It should be a relatively simple, albiet fiddley adjustment. If you drive over a stick and it just so happens to jam itself into that linkage area, it can make a mess too....
Get someone else to move the shifter and look underneath, you'll see the up/down- side side push pull linkage set up.
I suspect Monday they'll have you all set to go.

I sure hope so. I really like this tractor as it’s by far the easiest and most comfortable one I’ve ever been on.

So I don’t have issues going into park but definitely have a lot of other issues with the tranny. The dealer has been amazing so far so I expect them to figure it out. But I agree it’s like it’s going into a different gear than what it’s supposed to be in. I’m hoping it’s a easy fix as I really really love this tractor.

The linkage on those is kind of odd and can be out of whack and do exactly what you're describing

the other thing that I've seen is internal. Lets hope ya don't have to go that direction.

No doubt you'll get it sorted. Is this a new tractor?

I have an M6060 F8/R8 with creep range and I agree that these tractors are awesome. The only issue I've had is the tractor rocking back and forth a inch or so during warm up but that seems to be diminishing now.

Update:

Ended up just being a gear shifter adjustment issue. Basically there’s somewhat of a fine line in how it’s adjusted. With the shift arm in the neutral position and with the arm adjusted so that it rest slightly to the right of center all the gear positions go in super smooth but you can’t get it in or out of park. Adjust the shift arm so it rest slightly left of center and then the parking brake engages fine but the gear shifting is screwed up again. Once he got it right everything works perfectly now.

Glad they got it adjusted! Gove that area a spray with some oil/lube from time to time, there's a little bearing on a shaft that pushes one if the forks around..... when it seizes and wears flat, it's darn near impossible to adjust the linkage!

ok thanks for the advice. I will definitely keep that in mind. After the adjustments the tranny is slick as butter now. Very happy with this tractor.

Good to hear that the issue is resolved. I've said a number of times that I wish Kubota made an MX sized version of the M6060/7060 with the same layout. I'd be all over that. Yep, these "baby" Ms are kind of awesome.
