I have a 1980 Kubota L285. I cannot find where to check or fill the hydraulic oil. I've looked everywhere that has been suggested to me.

Can you post a couple of photos of your tractor?
EDIT; found some online... fill is on top of the transmission (circled in green) Not sure if that's a measuring stick also.

I am pretty sure that the fill level is a plug on the side of the case. Near where your foot is when you are pushing the clutch pedal. It looks like a bolt head but will have a sealing washer on it.
You pour oil in the fill port and when it starts to run out of the hole in the side it is full (and makes a mess if you’re not paying attention)
