I just performed first 8 hour service on my LP 1260 Cutter. Gauge wheel grease point calls for pumping grease until it exits from the relief port. I can't find a relief port. Wondering if this is a manual glitch or if it got left off when mine was built. Looking for input. Thanks

Unless this is something totally new that I don't understand. I think all it means is you add grease until it comes out the top and bottom of where the shaft goes through the bushing.

On the shaft I pumped grease until it came out. the second grease port I think serves the wheel bearings/bushings. That is the one that said to look for the relief port.

I pumped grease for a while on the bearings but didn't see it come out anywhere.

The hubs where the bearings are hold alot more grease than you would think. If it was the first time greasing them each one will take several oz's to fill. After that it shouldn't take no where near as much to keep them filled.

There are "grease relief ports" that are available for places that you do not want to build up pressure with grease pumping.

I personally would not think that one of these would be installed on a piece of farm equipment unless there are some grease seals at the end of the axle that could be forced out of the housing.

I had never seen such a device. I love it when people on this site share their knowledge. One person might not know the answer but when we get together we are almost unstoppable.
