My L5030 has 825 hours. I changed the engine oil just after purchase around 720 hours. I used Castrol GTX for the first change because I had some on hand. I really enjoy the tractor ( especially the cab) and have decided to keep it long term. What oil will give me the best overall performance and tractor life? The tractor will only be used around 100 hours a year on a small hobby farm.

I use Kubota “branded” oil. Might cost a little more, but it won’t break the bank. I use the weight called for in the operator's manual. Your L5030 has the same manual as my L3830. Below is a picture of the various weights called for. I use 10W-30, although sometimes 10W-40 because that’s all the dealer has sometimes.

Whatever meets the spec. Preferably, IMHO, a synthetic. Since you should be changing it annually and not on hours, little else matters.

T6 is inexpensive. If the extra $20 makes one feel good, then game on. T4 for 100 hours would be just as good.

Unless you used Castrol GTX Diesel the oil would not be diesel rated. Just go to Walmart and pick up whatever flavor HDEO you like. I would recommend a 10W30 but 15W40 would be fine. While a synthetic is usually better quality than a non synthetic I seriously doubt you would see any measurable benefit to using one with a 100hr service interval.
Anything on the shelf at Walmart or any other retailer will be fine for what you need. It is all about what makes you feel warm and fuzzy.
